Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 29 states of India and is the northeastern-most state of the country. Arunachal Pradesh borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south and shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east and is separated from China in the north by the disputed McMahon Line. Itanagar is the capital of the state.

Due to the topographical diversity, the climate inArunachal Pradesh ranges from sub-tropical to temperate depending upon the altitude. The regions in the lower belts of the state experience hot and humid climates, with a maximum temperature in the foothills reaching up to 40 °C (during the summer).
The wool weaving industry is perhaps its main industry. Shawls, carpets, chadars (wrap skirts worn by Monpa women), handcrafted bags, local tribal dresses are some of the more popular items to shop here. The best place to buy these items would be the Handicraft Emporium run by the Arunachal Pradesh government.
