Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa. It covers an area of around 274,200 square kilometers and is surrounded by six countries: Mali to the north; Niger to the east; Benin to the southeast.
Burkina Faso has a primarily tropical climate with two very distinct seasons. In the rainy season, the country receives between 600 and 900 millimeters (23.6 and 35.4 in) of rainfall; in the dry season, the harmattan – a hot dry wind from the Sahara – blows.

Burkina Faso — Shopping and Leisure. While not exactly a shopping haven, Burkina Faso is home to plenty of good markets. Of particular interest are those in Bobo-Dioulasso, Gorom Gorom, Dori, Ouahigouya, and the capital.
