The Central African Republic is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.
The climate is tropical, with abundant rainfall of about 178 cm (70 in) annually in the south, decreasing to about 86 cm (30 in) in the extreme northeast. There is one rainy season (December– March) and one long, hot, dry season (April–November). Floods are common.

Most of the Central African Republic's shopping and leisure hubs are in Bangui, with the most notable being Marché Central or the Central Market where you'll find crafts and jewelry made of gold or ebony. Shops are generally open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until dusk.
